House with public Art gallery

After demolishing the previous building where her mother started a Gallery as a pioneer in Hokkaidō art patronage, the client wanted to create a space where to live together with her art events and activities.
This architecture creates strong relationships with the surrounding two forests and the back garden, planted by her mother. The nature physically enters and continue into the building, blurring the limits between outside and inside, the house and the art gallery.

北海道の芸術支援の先駆者として母親がギャラリーを開設した以前の建物を取り壊した後、クライアントは、自身のアートイベントや活動と共存する空間を創りたいと考えました。
この建築は、周囲の二つの森と母親が植えた裏庭との強い関係性を生み出しています。自然が建物の中に入り込み、連続することで、外と内、住宅とギャラリーの境界が曖昧になっています。
